Sea to Sky Gondola to launch winter activities in December

From Dec. 3 to 31, visitors to the Squamish-based gondola can enjoy numerous family-friendly activities.

The Sea to Sky Gondola will soon launch its winter season with many activities for all ages to enjoy.

From Dec. 3 to 31, visitors to the gondola can enjoy a decorated forest walk, visits with Santa Claus and outdoor storytime. Additionally, snowshoe tours are available until February 2023, as well as tubing, Nordic skiing and backcountry skiing.

“The Sea to Sky Gondola summit turns into the ultimate winter wonderland,” said Christy Allan, the director sales, marketing and guest services, in a news release. “There is so much for locals to experience and enjoy right in their own backyard.”

The decorated forest walk is described as a holiday twist on the family-friendly Spirit Trail. It is decked out with decorations and festive touches and will lead visitors back to the Summit Lodge, where they can sit next to a warm fire. Additionally, the gondola offers a seasonal menu at the lodge for their festive lunches.

Kids can enjoy the outdoor storytime event, which will happen on a few dates in December, with different versions happening each week.

Perhaps most important, Santa Claus will be visiting the gondola, and eager children can have the opportunity to share their wish list and take home a photograph.

The Sea to Sky Gondola is putting its year-long pass at a reduced price until Dec. 31 for all ages. For more information, please visit SeaToSkyGondola.com
