The common stereotype is that men, especially those of previous generations, don't like to talk about, well — anything. But like most stereotypes, that is not necessarily the reality. Case in point — the Squamish Men's Shed's new initiative.

The Squamish Men's Shed Society is hosting a series of free public presentations on health-related topics, particularly as they apply to aging.

The first topic will deal with sexuality.

Squamish's Dr. Gerhard Malherbe will speak on the subject including the science and evidence of sexuality. The public, especially seniors, are invited to attend and learn more on Thursday, April 4, at the 55 Activity Centre starting at 11:45 a.m.

A light lunch will be provided.

The presentations are free, but require pre-registration by calling 604-848-6898.

The talks are in partnership with the District's Recreation Services and Better at Home.

Nutrition and aging will be the focus of the presentation on Thursday, May 2 at 11:45, at the 55 Activity Centre.

Squamish's public health dietitian, Gerry Kasten will cover the new Canada Food Guide.

Call to register: 604-848-6898.
