Squamish birder Chris Dale captured this footage of a barred owl in the estuary.

If this video doesn't chill you out, likely nothing will.

Squamish birder Chris Dale captured this footage of a barred owl in the estuary.

The barred owl is smaller than a great horned owl and larger than a barn owl, according to All About Birds.

They are usually found in forested areas near water.

They mostly roost during the day and hunt at night.

"At night, they hunt small animals, especially rodents, and give an instantly recognizable 'Who cooks for you?' call."
