Squamish Days are on!: See the Kettle Boil and Lumberjack Chili Cook-Off

The annual Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival roared to life Thursday night with a fiery double feature: the Kettle Boil competition followed by a crowd-pleasing Lumberjack Chili Cook-Off.

The 2025 Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival is on.

Day 1, on Thursday, July 31, saw the beloved Kettle Boil and Lumberjack Chili Cook-Off at the Squamish Valley Golf Club.

It started with the Kettle Boil.

"Axes, cedar blocks, cans of soapy water, three matches, and the race to a roaring boil. Teams of two compete over open flames while the crowd cheers. It’s fiery, fast, and the perfect Thursday night festival kickoff," reads the festival website.

Next up was the chili extravaganza, where attendees sampled bold, house-made chili from local chefs, voted for their favourite, all while enjoying live music and cheering on the Kettle Boil competitors.
