Have an idea to bring folks together in town?

The Neighbourhood Small Grants program is taking on new applications until mid-April.

According to a news release, the Squamish Community Foundation is inviting community members to apply for a neighbourhood small grant until April 12.

“Each year we provide grants up to $500 to community projects that aim to cultivate connection and belong and involve sharing skills or talents with each other,” reads the release.

Funded by the Vancouver Foundation and the District of Squamish since 2017, the grants have supported about 200 projects throughout the community.

In 2023, grant funding totalling $17,400 supported several different projects around Squamish.

“[Neighbourhood small grant] is focused on funding informal groups, individuals and activities. From community gardens to cultural events, there are many ways we can build a thriving neighbourhood.”

To apply, visit squamishfoundation.com/grants

The release also noted that the Vancouver Foundation's funding will end after 2025, so the foundation is seeking support from local donors to help continue the program into the future.

Interested donors can go to the foundation’s Canada Helps page to make online payments or contact Karen Clarke at [email protected] for other types of payments.
