Squamish Newcomer Services will soon host a multicultural Christmas event in an effort to connect with others during the holiday season.

The event is located at the Squamish United Church and will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The church is located at 38014 Fourth Ave. near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Victoria Street downtown.

"Join us to meet and connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures," reads the news release about the event, "and learn about some of their traditional celebrations through crafts, games, music, food and more."

Several special guests will attend the event including Santa and Mrs. Claus. The release says eventgoers are welcome to bring and share snacks or sweets, and other crafts and snacks will also be provided.

This is a free event open to anyone in the community and all ages and genders.
