Squamish's Darts & Daffodils

To my fellow cyclists, Just look the other way. Keep those headshakes And your frowns at bay. I don’t wear a helmet That’s not going to happen, But it sure does set Your lips a flappin. Mind your own biz, And don’t get smart.

To my fellow cyclists,
Just look the other way.
Keep those headshakes
And your frowns at bay.
I don’t wear a helmet
That’s not going to happen,
But it sure does set
Your lips a flappin.
Mind your own biz,
And don’t get smart.
You’ll probably wear a helmet,
To read this dart.

Wheelbarrows full of thanks to the local landscaping company who takes such amazing care of our gardens and grounds in our development. You always have a smile on your face when you are working and take such wonderful care of our area.

Gondola cabins full of daffodils to Tina from Sea to Sky Gondola for her time and generosity. Thank you for helping us help others! It was a wonderful experience.

Tubas filled with daffodils to Maestro Dr. Lori Broker and her first violin, Le-Anne Weatherbee.

A road-shaped daffodil to the Squamish man we met in a traffic jam after an accident outside of Kamloops. Connecting with a fellow-Squamite is like finding a neighbour. Thanks for your trip-home advice. We hope your trip was as smooth as can be.

Running shoes full of daffodils for my running companion, Sandy Rivett.  Thank you for your words of encouragement and support during our summer runs together!

A huge trail full of daffodils to Jeff and Pat at the Salted Vine for the delicious food they prepared for the Wednesday Night Social Ride, Sean at Nestors for supplying the groceries and McDonald’s for supplying the ice to keep the drinks cold. Can’t wait for the Salted Vine to officially open towards the end of this month!

Daffodils to the wind and weather that seems to be lining up nicely for Kite Clash on Aug. 26-28. Also a huge bundle of daffodils to Chances Squamish for running the first-ever shuttle to the slew of kiteboarding competitions at the Spit during this year’s meet. As a kiteboarder, that will help cut down on congestion at the already crowded Spit, but as a spectator that’s awesome news for my car. Thank you.

Open-sign shaped darts to the Squamish businesses that close willy-nilly during the day. We are not some backwater town anymore. It is so embarrassing when tourists walk up to a shop or cafe and read a sign that says someone is at the beach or simply “out.”

Huge smily-face daffodils to the people of Squamish who smile and say hello to complete strangers on the street. That hometown friendly vibe is what will keep people coming back to visit and spend money in our community. It also makes locals feel good about each other too.

Overflowing baskets of daffodils to the people who keep the beautiful hanging baskets looking good downtown!
