Your local newspaper brought the gold to Squamish at the 2018 Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards.
“Thank you to our loyal readers and the sources who trusted us to tell their stories,” said editor Jennifer Thuncher.
The Squamish Chief took home gold in newspaper excellence for Category C.
“Great community news coverage and an extensive Lifestyle section,” reads a comment from the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association, which organizes the event.
“Stories are clear and balanced, and editorial section has a good mix of editorial, letters and cartoon, as well as pulls from online. Online presence across platforms and apps is clear; well organized and up-to-date.”
The award ceremony took place in Richmond at the River Rock Casino over the weekend.
