Thomas rolls back into Squamish

Popular kids TV icon will be at railway park
Thomas

The big blue train is making his return to Squamish.

Thomas the Tank Engine and all of his friends return to the West Coast Heritage Railway Park for five dates this month starting on May 16.

The 11th annual event is regarded as one of the busiest of the year for the park, with thousands visiting Squamish to see the stars of the kids’ television show up close.

Day Out with Thomas gives children and fans of all ages the opportunity to take a ride on Thomas, meet Sir Topham Hatt (the controller of the railway) and experience a day full of Thomas-themed activities at the Thomas and Friends Imagination Station inside the CN Roundhouse Centre.

The day includes a 30-minute train ride with Thomas, entertainment including magicians, crafts and bouncy castles, and many other family friendly activities on site.

It’s recommended that those attending arrive at least an hour ahead of their scheduled train departure to allow time to park and walk onto the site. Train boarding commences 20 minutes before the departure time and trains depart the station on time. If you miss your train, the park cannot guarantee a later ride as they are generally sold out. Officials also point out that the event will go on, rain or shine.

Thomas rolls into town May 16 to 18 , then again May 23 to 24. Departures occur at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. each morning and 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m. every afternoon. For ticket prices and more information on the event, visit www.wcra.org.
