Three earn forestry certifications

Lee, Hussey and Timm admitted to ABCFP

Three Squamish residents recently were among 85 new members admitted to the Association of B.C. Forest Professionals (ABCFP) after successfully completing certification exams.

Susan Lee earned the title of Registered Professional Forester (RFP), while Jake Alexander Hussey and Richard August Timm were admitted to the association as Trainee Forest Technologists (TFT), ABCFP officials wrote in a statement issued during the group's conference and AGM on Thursday (Feb. 13) in Kelowna.

Neil Alexander MacEachern of Gibsons earned the highest mark on the recent exam, while Ana Maria Gonzalez on the Registered Professional Technologist (RPF) exam. Gonzalez will be able to use the RFT designation once she completes her articling, officials said.

The ABCFP is the largest professional forestry association in Canada, responsible for registering and regulating B.C.'s professional foresters and forest technologists. The practice of professional forestry has been regulated in B.C. since 1947.
