There’s always something going on in this busy town!
Of course, this week is the Squamish Days Loggers' Sports Festival with so much to see and do, including the Kettle Boil Challenge and Lumberjack Chili Cook-Off on Thursday and the infamous Bed Races on Friday to name just two things to catch before the big main events on the weekend.

1. On July 30, there's Snacks + Polyamory Social at The Locavore Bar & Grill, located at 1861 Mamquam Rd, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
"Bring your favourite snacks and your curiosity about polyamory. We’ll be sharing snacks—it’s a snackluck!—alongside experiences, questions, and insights about this alternative relationship model, love, and relationships," reads the listing. "Whether you're curious to learn more about polyamory or seeking to hear from more experienced polyamorous folks, you're welcome to attend. Please RSVP if you can and help us know how many folx to expect! It’s free to attend or give a donation to support this series of polyamory-themed events in your community."
2. On July 31, head to Junction Park for NiKo: Amped in the Park, at 37950 Cleveland Ave., from 9 p.m. to midnight.
"Amped in the Park aims to continue the goal of developing and promoting fantastic emerging artists within the Squamish community," reads the listing.
"Peppered with hopeful sadness and gritty deep growls of desire, NiKo takes you down a melodic path that you weren't fully aware you needed to take. Lending curiosity of anticipated unknown while taking you on a familiar journey through the pathways of your heart."
3. On Aug. 15, Vox Rea (siblings who attended Quest University) returns to Squamish to play the Brackendale Art Gallery from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
"Since the release of their first single “Dose Me Up” in 2020, Vox Rea has garnered over one million streams on Spotify, and their music has been added to various editorial playlists, including New Music Friday Canada, Indie All Stars, and Fresh Finds. Their music has also found its way into the world of television, including syncs on shows like Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias and Orphan Black," reads the listing.
4. On Aug. 13, join the Sea to Sky Wood Network for an afternoon of guided shop tours through Squamish’s wood industry from 2 to 8 p.m.
"This curated walk-through provides participants with a behind-the-scenes look at four distinct local manufacturers, each playing their role in transforming raw wood into value-added wood materials," reads the listing.
"Whether you’re in design, manufacturing, building, or have an interest in wood—this is a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and get inspired by what’s happening in Squamish."
5. Planning ahead to Aug. 16, there's Squamish Arts: Sp'akw'us Feather Shakedown at 37321 Galbraith Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m.
"A free annual event, the Sp’akw’us Feather Shakedown is a celebration of arts, community, and culture in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable: Sp’akw’us Feather Park, at the head of Howe Sound and presided over by the Stawamus Chief," reads the listing. "This year’s line-up includes Alex Badger, Leo D.E. Johnson, Welhtima Kexwusem, Astrocolor, Fort Knox Five, and Smalltown DJs—with more to be announced!"
6. On Aug. 23, plan to take in Bag Raiders (Live) @ Arc'teryx Academy Music Series, at the Brackendale Art Gallery, located at 41950 Government Rd., from 6 to 10 p.m.
"Australian dance royalty Bag Raiders return with new music, a new label, and a new lease on life in 2022. Not many artists have had the immense effect on the youth of today quite like Bag Raiders.
