If you're a local filmmaker, then Brackendale Art Gallery (BAG) owner Thor Froslev wants you - or rather, your film.Froslev is hosting the second annual Brackendale Documentary Film Festival March 4, and although entries have been coming in, he said there's always room for more.

"We have three movies from Brackendale," said Froslev. "The theme for the film festival is 'Films of the Natural World'."

So far this year, entries include a film on kayaking the Elaho and Ashlu, a mountain biking film and Derelictica - a snowboarding film by Sean Johnson.

"It's a fabulous movie," Froslev said. "Even an old guy like me can appreciate the great shots and incredible action in the snowboard movie. It was a real eye-opener for me."

He said he had always wanted to have a film festival at his gallery - so, like Nike, he just did it.

"Canada is known for its documentary films," he said. "I always wanted to put on a documentary film festival, and ideas are a dime a dozen until you do something about it, so I did it."

Interested filmmakers can contact Froslev at BAG at 604-898-3333 to submit a film.

The film fest runs March 4 at 8 p.m. with tickets going for $10.
