Dance off the dust and sweat the chillback by popular demand, Freeflow will be bringing their unique, dynamic rhythm again to the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company on Friday Feb. 3.

"We're all about moving the crowd," said founder and lead vocalist Jason Evans. "It is a very high energy show."

Their music refuses to be classified under one genre and can be described as the fusion of soul, reggae, rap, and rock and roll music that you can dance to. Critics have described them as "tight- with wiggle room to create and improvise" and as having a "funk-soul brother sound" that is "infectious."

Evans said the group, which has been together for six years, is glad to be back in Squamish and they like the vibe of the audiences at the Brew Pub.

"We have a good following in Squamish and we try to get people involved," he said. "The bar treats us well and everybody's happy."

The group, who has performed hundreds of shows in Canada and Mexico, has recently added the hip-hop element to their already energized show. The effects have been to create vocal variety and add to their influences that already include Sublime, The Roots, Jimmy Cliff, and Queens of the Stone Age.

"Our MC [E-spliff] has got a west coast modern style," he said. "I listen to Run DMC, Tribe Called Quest and Arrested Development, so there are elements of that too."

Freeflow has recently been invited to perform a showcase for Canadian Music Week in Toronto in March, which Evans describes as "big news" for the band. They also have a video in the works and so the band's positive vibe will soon be flowing with sight and sound.

The show takes place Friday night at the Brew Pub, and tickets are $5.
