The Squamish Farmers’ Market is getting an extra splash of colour. Saturday until Oct. 25, local arts group Visuals will be at the market showcasing resident artists’ work. The arts group has grown and evolved in recent years, member Lisa Elbertsen wrote in a press release. The organization is making steps to become more engaged in the region.
“In an effort to expose more of our artists within our community, Visuals will be taking part in the Squamish Farmers’ Market for the entire summer season,” she said.
There will be two or more artists at the Visuals market tent every Saturday. The group is also hosting live painting events and art demonstrations.
Visuals is made up of artists from Lions Bay to Pemberton. The non-profit group was created 12 years ago.
“Our organization supports the development, education and promotion of Sea to Sky artists,” Elbertsen wrote. “Our Squamish-based artist volunteer group creates mentoring and networking opportunities for all artisans to share their knowledge and expertise, assisting in the development of professional business, marketing and sales skills.”
