Find out what you can do with a drunken sailor April 29, as the Sea to Sky Singers tackle Songs of the Sea for the choir's annual spring concert.

"Our theme is Songs of the Sea and includes all sorts of water-themed songs," said music director Veronica McPhee. "It is built on sea chanties, folk songs and a couple of show tunes."

McPhee said the theme was inspired by people around her involved with boats.

"The whole concert was inspired last year when I was planning for the choir," she said. "One person in the choir was building a rowboat/dinghy and so that inspired me.

"Also my husband and a few others are racing and have a sailboat in town," she said. "So with all the talk about boats and sailing, I thought it would be fun to do songs of the sea."

The 30-member Sea to Sky Singers performs concerts in the spring and at Christmas.

Songs of the Sea takes place April 29 at the Squamish Baptist Church.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors, available at Mostly Books, Highland Video and Billie's Bouquet.
