Squamish events: Pearl’s 25th birthday fashion show celebrates thrifted style

1. On July 18, catch Triple Threat: Whistler Takeover at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. 

"Taking over the wicked Tricksters Hideout, @caseofthemondayss @badgeraus and @Lavvv will be dishing out seriously groovy vibrations across the night, offering you a firm taste of all things rolling, wobbly, and groovy all night long," reads the listing.

2. On July 26, it's Pearl’s 25th Birthday Fashion Show & Designer Clothing Sale, at 38130 Cleveland Ave., from 3 to 4 p.m. 

"Free outdoor fashion show event out front of Pearl’s Value & Vintage at 3 p.m. on July 26 (Open Street Day), featuring volunteer models in 100%-thrifted ensembles," reads the listing. "Outdoor standing room only. After the show, stick around for a designer clothing sale including all the statement pieces from the show and much more! All proceeds to PearlSpace, as always!"

3. On July 31, head to Junction Park for NiKo: Amped in the Park, at 37950 Cleveland Ave., from 9 p.m. to midnight. 

"Amped in the Park aims to continue the goal of developing and promoting fantastic emerging artists within the Squamish community," reads the listing. 

 "Peppered with hopeful sadness and gritty deep growls of desire, NiKo takes you down a melodic path that you weren't fully aware you needed to take. Lending curiosity of anticipated unknown while taking you on a familiar journey through the pathways of your heart."

4. Planning ahead to Aug. 16, there's Squamish Arts: Sp'akw'us Feather Shakedown at 37321 Galbraith Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. 

"A free annual event, the Sp’akw’us Feather Shakedown is a celebration of arts, community, and culture in one of the most spectacular settings imaginable: Sp’akw’us Feather Park, at the head of Howe Sound and presided over by the Stawamus Chief," reads the listing. "This year’s line-up includes Alex Badger, Leo D.E. Johnson, Welhtima Kexwusem, Astrocolor, Fort Knox Five, and Smalltown DJs—with more to be announced!"

5. Aug. 23, plan to take in Bag Raiders (Live) @ Arc'teryx Academy Music Series, at the Brackendale Art Gallery, located at 41950 Government Rd., from 6 to 10 p.m.

"Australian dance royalty Bag Raiders return with new music, a new label, and a new lease on life in 2022. Not many artists have had the immense effect on the youth of today quite like Bag Raiders. Whether that be sound-tracking many a sweaty night on a dance floor, sing-a-longs at the biggest festivals in the world, or becoming the anthem to one of the most iconic moments in the internet’s history, the electronic duo have done it all," reads the listing.

6. Save the date on Aug. 29, as it is Jokers Canada: Squamish Comedy Classic at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m.

"Jokers Canada is bringing pro headliners and Canada’s best touring comics to Trickster’s Hideout. These events typically sell out," reads the listing.
