U2 at the Chieftain - well, kind of

Entertainment

If you happened to have missed the sold out U2 shows in Vancouver last month, the next best thing is coming to The Chieftain on Thursday, July 21.

Child, a U2 tribute band from Quebec is slated to take The Chieftain's stage with an ever-increasing repertoire of the Irish supergroup's songs.

Formed about two years ago in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, Child soon found itself playing to larger audiences and garnering a following of loyal fans from Quebec to Ontario.

The group became so popular and well-known for its convincing U2 tribute that the group was given a special invitation by Universal Music to perform at the Quebec City launch of U2's latest release. The whole event was pout on by a Quebec City rock station.

Since then, the band has been touring Canada and will hit The Chieftain's stage Thursday (July 21) at 10:30 p.m.
