Sea to Sky Gondola organizing visits from the Clauses

Santa and his better half to drop by local neighbourhoods starting Dec. 4

The Sea to Sky Gondola may be temporarily closed once again, but Santa Claus won't let that keep him from bringing some holiday cheer to Squamish.

On the first three Fridays in December — Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 — the gondola float will cruise through local communities with Santa and Mrs. Claus as part of a reimagined Spirit of Christmas program. Locals are invited to head outside and wave, in a physically distanced manner, of course, as no one-on-one visits will be allowed.

The Dec. 4 route will go through Valleycliffe and Downtown Squamish; Dec. 11 will head through Garibaldi Highlands and Garibaldi Estates; and Dec. 18 will take the pair through Brackendale and Dentville. The visits will take place between 4 and 6 p.m.

Routes through each community will be announced on the gondola's website in the days leading up to a visit.

To prepare for the big guy himself, don't miss Santa's bedtime stories, which will be posted to the gondola's Facebook page on Thursdays at 7 p.m. starting Dec. 3.
