The Ministry of Environment is asking people to steer clear of the area where the Western Dihedrals meet the Grand Wall, following a rockfall that occurred on Friday.

A slab of rock dislodged from the face of the Stawamus Chief on Sept. 10 at approximately 4:45 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The rockfall occurred at the Grand Wall within the area that was closed previously following the first Grand Wall rockfall in June.

A second, massive rockfall occurred after the June fall, decimating a large part of the Grand Wall area and affecting bouldering areas beneath.

BC Parks continues to monitor the situation.

A complete list of closed areas can be found at https://bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/stawamus/
