David and Penny Thompson sent in these pictures they took of the Colombian sailing vessel Gloria arriving in North Vancouver May 4 where it docked and was open to the public for free tours.

In an email the couple said: "It was pretty awesome with the crew up in the rigging and all singing. There were many on the jetty watching their arrival."

The A.R.C. Gloria, described as the flagship of the Colombian Navy, visited Burrard Dock east of Lonsdale Quay as part of the Ships to Shore Festival that also saw the tall ship Kaiwo Maru from Japan docked in Steveston.
