Alleged marijuana grow op busted; two face charges

Police find plants, production equipment at home in North Yards

Two Squamish males face multiple charges in connection with last week's police discovery of a marijuana grow operation at a home on Government Road in North Yards.

On Friday (May 27), Squamish RCMP, including members of the Sea to Sky General Investigation Section, executed a search warrant at the home in the 40000 block of Government Road. In the search, officers arrested two males and seized 17 marijuana plants and "production equipment for a much larger operation," RCMP Sgt. Eric Rochette wrote in an email to The Chief.

As a result, the two men have been charged with unlawfully producing a controlled substance and several counts of failing to comply with a court-ordered recognizance. They are set to appear in court on July 13.
