Squamish RCMP are seeking the public's help in locating a suspect in an assault that occurred in Valleycliffe during the early morning hours last Wednesday (May 1).
Police attended the 1900 block of Maple Drive at around 2:30 a.m. in response to a report of a large group of noisy people near a neighbourhood pub that had closed for the evening, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Pride wrote in a statement.
While en route, police were advised that a fight had broken out, and when police arrived they located a 26-year-old Squamish man who had been assaulted by another man, who was unknown to him.
The victim was taken to Squamish Hospital to be treated for a possible broken jaw, Pride said. A search of the area near the incident failed to locate the suspect, who was described as being approximately 6 feet tall, 183 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
