On Tuesday (June 22) at 2:31 a.m. and again on Wednesday (June 23) at 4:02 a.m. two porta potties were intentionally set on fire at the corner of Pemberton and Cleveland Avenue. The second fire also caused damage to a Hydro Pole. Police and fire officials are asking anyone with information or anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area on either night to contact police or Crime Stoppers, both matters are still under investigation.

Intoxicated youths fight

On Friday (June 18) at 9:10 p.m., police attended to a report of a fight at the Westway Avenue Apartments. Upon attendance, police located a 15-year-old intoxicated youth who was causing a disturbance. The youth was arrested and lodged in cells. A guardian was notified and the youth was held until sober, issued a violation ticket and released to a guardian once sober.

Intoxicated youth detained

On Sunday (June 20) at 12:40 a.m., a member on patrol observed a young male on Government Road near Mamquam Road staggering and nearly falling down. The 17-year-old male was detained and a parent was located to take care of the youth who was issued with a violation ticket for being intoxicated in public.

Vehicle broken into

On Saturday (June 19), a vehicle owner reports that between 3:30 and 4 p.m. someone stole his wallet from his vehicle parked near Marina Estates. The thief stole the black wallet by going through an open window. The wallet contained identification, money and credit cards. The suspect attempted to make transactions on the credit cards. The matter is still under investigation.

SSCS broken into

On Thursday June 17 at 2:40 p.m., police were advised that the Sea to Sky Community Services storage facility had been broken into overnight and a quantity of items taken.

Entry was gained through a window in the rear of the building and stole two leather couches, two 19 Panasonic TVs, Cabela shoes, batteries and condoms. Identification services attended the scene and seized items for examination. The matter remains under investigation.
