If walking the dike by the dog pound is part of your routine, you might want to forgo that for a bit.
The District of Squamish and Conservation Officer Service (COS) have issued a wildlife alert following multiple reports of close encounters with a large bear travelling along the dog pound dike off of Government Road.The bear is exhibiting "defensive behaviour" and has charged people in the area, according to a District news release.
"The public is being asked to please avoid the area in order to provide this bear with the space it needs.
