A young boy who was riding his bike was entangled in fishing line hanging about three feet off the ground in trees near the waters of Cattermole Slough, near downtown, Squamish RCMP say.
Cpl. Adam Koehle says it’s unclear if the line was placed there intentionally or was left there accidentally by a fisherman.
A police officer spent several hours on foot in the area, but he was not able to locate any more fishing line or anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious.
RCMP say officers have followed up with the family, and police say that the boy did not receive any significant injuries.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Squamish RCMP.
