RCMP is investigating recent incidents of mischief and vandalism in the downtown area where several businesses have received damage to windows from what appears to be a pellet gun. On June 14 at 9:30 a.m.

RCMP is investigating recent incidents of mischief and vandalism in the downtown area where several businesses have received damage to windows from what appears to be a pellet gun. On June 14 at 9:30 a.m. Sea to Sky Community Services on Second Avenue reported two large panes of glass cracked. Upon attendance police determined cracks were caused by what appears to be pellet holes in the glass.

On June 15 at 11:00 a.m. Sea to Sky Community Services, Squamish Veterinary Clinic and Squamish Denture Clinic on Second Avenue all report windowpanes being shattered, cracked or holed by a what appears to be a pellet from a pellet gun. Noisy Boyes on Second Avenue also received damage to its windows.

Damage has been significant in that several windows require replacement, exact dollar value not yet available.

Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Squamish detachment or Crimestoppers.

Truck plummets down 100-foot embankmentAt approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday (June 18) a dump truck left the roadway and slid approximately 100 feet down an embankment off Highway 99 at Ansell Place,. CN Rail workers helped rescue the 64-year-old driver, from North Vancouver, who was immediately transported from the scene by a pick-up truck to a waiting ambulance that transported him to hospital.

The driver, who remained conscious during the entire ordeal, sustained an undisclosed leg injury.
