Four new faces and an incumbent have filled the five seats that were up for grabs in the Squamish Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors.

The new arrivals are Maxime Charron of Leading Ahead; Hilary Ewart of 7mesh Consulting; Allie Meeres of Woodfibre LNG; and Bianca Peters of BP Communications.

Incumbent Robert Weys of MarXet Management has been voted to return to the board.

Ten candidates were nominated for five positions, with voting taking place online.

“Congratulations to all new and returning directors. We are very pleased to have strong representation from across the business community, and we look forward to a successful and productive 2018,” said board chair Christine Campbell in a news release Thursday.

“I would like to thank each of the candidates who put their name forward to serve on the Squamish Chamber board of directors.” she added.

The new members are expected to be sworn in at The Common on Dec. 13 by municipal Coun. Karen Elliott.

They will begin their roles in January.

Directors serve for two-year terms which are staggered. In other words, directors don’t start their terms at the same time, so not every seat is up for grabs each election.

The new directors will be joining the following current board members.

Eric Andersen of the Squamish and District Forestry Association; Kathy Bennett of Quest University; Christine Campbell of C Campbell Agency; John French of Sound Selection Communications; Kathleen Van der Ree of Race and Company; and Erin Yeo of Squamish Terminals.
