The Squamish Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for a re-vamped series of awards honouring Squamish's top businesses and most dedicated citizen.

The Business Excellence Awards, to be handed out at the Chamber's Spring Gala on March 24, include awards in five categories: Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Green Business of the Year, Business Leader of the Year and Not-for-Profit Business of the Year. The Green Business award was previously handed out at a different time of year, while the final two categories are new awards.

The deadline for nominations is next Tuesday (March 6) at 4 p.m. Nomination forms are being sent out by email to all chamber members, or they can be found on the chamber website at www.squamishchamber.com, where you can also find information about the criteria for each award.

After the list of nominees is announced, chamber members will be invited to vote on the chamber website and Facebook page. A five-member selection committee will then consider the results of the voting in making its final selections, officials said.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for some of the awards. Please contact chamber manager Elliot Moses at [email protected] or visit www.squamishchamber.com for information.
