A Squamish resident faces a criminal charges from a vehicle accident last November that left a local woman dead.
On Thursday (Sept. 12), Ryan Brandon Reece is set to appear by video link in the North Vancouver Provincial Court, Crown counsel Brian MacFarlane told The Chief on Tuesday (Sept. 10). He faces one count each of criminal negligence causing death, impaired driving causing death and causing an accident resulting in death.
On Nov. 1, 2012, Reece was involved in a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Government and Depot roads in Brackendale. Reece was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital to be treated for injures. Tanya Lee Boudewyn, a Squamish resident and mother of two children, died as a result of the collision.
Reece was already scheduled to appear in court for a separate charge on Thursday. He is charged with care or control vehicle or vessel while impaired and dangerous operation of motor vehicle for an incident that occurred on Aug. 19, 2013.
Reece was found guilty in an unrelated case involving care or control of a vehicle/vessel while over .08 blood alcohol content, an incident that occurred on April 8, 2013, according to court documents. At the time, Reece was driving while prohibited, Squamish RCMP Staff Sgt. Brian Cumming told The Chief last week. Reece is in custody until his court appearance, he said.
