The photo spread titled “Thrills and Spills at Squamish Days,” featuring photographs by Ben Lypka and Christine Endicott, won first place Best Photo Essay for the circulation category.

The Chief also won third place for its photo essay “SVMF rocks Squamish,” featuring photographs by Christine Endicott, Ben Lypka and Darren Roberts.

A photo of the Squamish Terminals dock fire by David Buzzard won second place in the circulation category for Spot News Photo.

The Squamish Chief is also a top-three finalist for two BC-Yukon Community Newpaper Association Awards in two categories: General Excellence, for The Squamish Chief, and Special Publications, for its summer 2015 edition of Discover Squamish magazine. Publisher Darren Roberts and editor Christine Endicott will attend a gala in Richmond on May 7, when the BCYCNA award winners will be announced.
