CMA to build school on Quest U. campus

Coast Mountain Academy (CMA) this week announced plans to build a new school facility on the Quest University Canada campus.

Coast Mountain Academy (CMA) this week announced plans to build a new school facility on the Quest University Canada campus.

CMA, which opened its doors in the fall of 2013 in space leased from Quest, will build its new school on a one-acre parcel of land about 100 metres from the Quest recreational building, officials announced in a statement issued on Wednesday (March 5). The 960-square-foot building will be ready for use in the fall of 2014, officials said.

A new agreement with Quest allows CMA to continue using some Quest facilities including the gymnasium, sports field, cafeteria and multipurpose room, officials said.

"We are rapidly growing at CMA," says Colin Boguski, director of admissions. "We will require more space than we currently have and, given the expanding interest from the Sea to Sky community, our new location couldn't come at a better time."

CMA officials are fundraising to support the construction of the school's flexible, modern learning space. With the addition of Grade 11 in 2014 and Grade 12 in 2015, CMA expects to exceed enrolment targets in the next two years, officials said.
