Conservation Service seeks information about local elk poaching

The Sea to Sky Conservation Officer Service is asking the public for any information about the poaching of a Roosevelt elk in Squamish.

A bull elk was shot and killed along the paved portion of Squamish Valley Road, a news release from the service states.
There is no opening hunting season for elk in this area.

The poaching is believed to have taken place sometime between Nov. 1 and 2
This is a well-travelled road and conservation officers are hoping a resident or motorist in the area may have seen something or has dashcam footage that could help the investigation,” reads the release.
