More work is being done at the former Squamish Spit.

You will see crews down at the former area of the Spit in the Skwelwil'em Squamish Estuary for about the next six weeks.

The Squamish River Watershed Society said in its Wednesday newsletter that "minor modifications" are being done from now until Oct. 31.

"This continuation of Phase 2 work includes scrapping down some high points and re-sculpting a portion of the new end of the berm to help connect existing channels to the estuary,” the newsletter reads.

The work will require heavy machinery and the transportation of rock and soil.

The southern end of the training berm will be closed to the public during this time.
