COVID-19 cases in Howe Sound remain low

90% of those 12 and up are double vaccinated.

The Howe Sound region saw 43 COVID-19 cases for the week Oct. 24 to 30th. 

Howe Sound includes Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, up to Birken and N'Quatqua.

Data specific to Squamish is not released. 

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, Oct. 17 to 23, Howe Sound saw 42 cases.

Counts are released for the seven-day period (Sunday to Saturday). The data is released on Wednesdays. 

To date, the region has seen 3,301 cases. 

On the VCH website as of Nov. 3, the potential school exposures listed are at Brackendale Elementary on the dates: Oct. 6 to 8 and Oct. 12 and at Squamish Elementary School on the dates Oct. 1, Oct. 4 to 8, Oct. 12 to 13, Oct. 18 to 19, Oct. 21 and Oct. 25 to 27. 

In terms of vaccination, 90% of those 12 years and over have received their second dose of a COVID-19 immunization in our region as of Nov. 2.

To date, 2,192 people have died from COVID-19 in B.C. since the start of the pandemic.
