A local adventure business has closed down temporarily due to a COVID-19 case.

Canadian Outback Rafting has shut for a time due to a pandemic exposure, the company says.

"We were recently made aware by Vancouver Coastal Health of a COVID exposure at our rafting company," reads a statement to The Chief from the company.

"We have made the decision to close down for the time being as our number one priority is the safety of our staff and guests."

Staff with the company have informed all guests who were rafting with them on the dates in question, the statement says, and they are working closely with Vancouver Coastal Health on the next steps.

B.C. saw 83 new cases of COVID-19 on Aug. 18, for a total of 4,677 since January; 3,704 people have recovered and there have been 198 deaths.
