Deadline for public comments for the Woodfibre-related Fortis pipeline looming

The province is asking for statements on proposed changes
FortisBC,
Earlier, FortisBC, completed soil and rock investigations in Squamish for the proposed pipeline.

The last day for public comment on the Woodfibre-related FortisBC Eagle Mountain pipeline project is fast approaching.

On Dec. 23, at midnight the comment period for that project will close.

This comment period is intended to allow the public to address several changes that Fortis will be making to the pipeline.

This includes the option of a new location for the Squamish compressor station; rerouting an eight-kilometre section of the pipeline; changes to compressor units at the Eagle Mountain compressor station; and the addition of three-kilometres of pipeline near the Eagle Mountain compressor station in Coquitlam, according to a notice from the province.

As a FortisBC venture, the pipeline is a separate project from Woodfibre, but it is being built as a result of the Woodfibre facility that is anticipated to be constructed in Howe Sound.

The project is dependent on a final investment decision from Woodfibre, which has yet to be made.
