District unveils promotional videos

Series aims to generate business interest, Kirkham says

The District of Squamish this week launched a four-part movie series highlighting local businesses.

The videos showcase a cross-section of successful companies throughout the town, stated a district press release. They were created to stimulate external business interest and excitement in the community, Squamish Mayor Rob Kirkham said. The municipality's economic development office and various stakeholders will share the videos through a variety of channels, he noted.

These videos celebrate our diverse business community, and highlight the factors of success that make Squamish such an incredible place to do business, Kirkham said.

The videos each focus on the themes of workforce, growth, lifestyle, and location. A highlight reel, titled Squamish A Place for Business provides an overview of all four themes.

District staff worked with the Squamish Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Squamish and the Squamish Downtown Business Improvement Association, along with video producers Ear to the Ground Planning Inc., to develop the series.

The entrepreneurial spirit at work in Squamish is inspirational, Kirkham said. The videos will instill deep pride among residents and highlight the diversity of industry that exists in Squamish today, he said.

They tell our story to potential investors in a way that is authentic and captivating. They depict a community filled with intelligent, energetic, forward thinking leaders who balance hard work with a lifestyle that's second-to-none, Kirkham said.

The videos are available to view and share at www.squamish.ca/businessvideos.
