The Squamish 50 is handing money over to the Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association for trail building.

Trail runners from across the country are showing their love for Squamish’s routes to the tune of $2,000.

Backers of the Squamish 50 trail running race raised the money online to help with trail maintenance. The funds were donated to the District of Squamish, with the intention that it would fall into the hands of the Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association.

Squamish 50 consists of a 50-mile race, a 50-kilometre race and a 23-kilometre race. Runners have the option of racing the 50-mile run on Saturday, August 16, followed by the 50-kilometre or 23-kilometre race on Sunday, August 17.
