Public's help sought in Sea to Sky hit-and-run involving baby in stroller.

A terrifying crash has the Sea to Sky RCMP investigating and seeking the public's help.

Monday night at about 8:30 p.m., a driver struck a pedestrian and a baby in a stroller at the crosswalk at Pemberton and Second Avenue in downtown Squamish, according to the RCMP.

RCMP say the driver fled the scene, but was found approximately two blocks away.

"The baby stroller, with the baby inside, was lodged into the front of the vehicle and appeared to have been dragged from the collision," police said in a news release on Tuesday morning.

The person who was walking and the baby suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are receiving medical attention.

The release states that police arrested the driver, but no other information will be provided at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone who has doorbell, home or business security camera footage in the downtown Squamish areas of Second Avenue/Pemberton Avenue to Fourth Avenue/Winnipeg Avenue between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on April 22 to contact police.

Further, anyone who witnessed the incident, and has not yet spoken to police, is asked to please call the Sea to Sky RCMP  at the Squamish detachment at 604-892-6100.

“Sea to Sky RCMP-Squamish are thanking the public for their quick actions in locating the vehicle, and providing timely information to police to assist in the investigation,” the release states.
