Hip-hop heads in Squamish might get a chuckle after an acclaimed DJ and producer made a funny about the town’s fashion choices.
“If u rock over 6 variations of denim at once a portal opens up that takes u to Squamish,” tweeted The Alchemist, also known as Daniel Maman, yesterday.
Maman has collaborated on a massive list of tracks with some of the best known hip hop artists.
One of his major breaks came years ago when he was designated Eminem’s official touring DJ.
He’s also worked with high-profile artists Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson and Danny Brown, just to name a few.
One of his more widely-publicized recent works was the beat to a track on Lamar’s triple-platinum album, DAMN, which won best rap album at last year’s Grammy’s.
He produced the 12th track on the record, titled Fear.
