Vancouver's culinary ambassador of Indian cuisine, Vikram Vij, will be spending Saturday (July 23) afternoon at Kitchen Quickies in Squamish showcasing his new line of delectable cook at home Indian-inspired dishes.

Kitchen Quickies is delighted to host the famous chef known for his creative fusion Indian dishes, and Squamish residents are invited to a free live cooking demonstration of his favourite dishes, mild chicken and curried chick peas, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Samples of several dishes will be available for tasting.

He's the founder and chef of Vij's and Vij's Rangoli Restaurant and is now the maker of Vij's Inspired Indian Cuisine frozen meals.

The packaged meals are inspired from the popular and original recipes served at Vij's restaurant. They contain no artificial colours, preservatives or flavourings and the meat used is raised without antibiotics or hormones.

All of the brand's eight meat dishes and seven vegetarian dishes are gluten-free and most are dairy-free as well. They are sold frozen and can be heated in various ways.

Vij will also be available to sign copies of his cookbook, Elegant and Inspired: Vij's Indian Cuisine and Vij's at Home: Relax, Honey, on sale at Kitchen Quickies.
