Police found a flaming 1981 Volkswagen van outside the Squamish RCMP station on July 2.
After hearing a loud bang, officers went outside the station and saw the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The owner stated the van started to smell like smoke and the back of the van caught fire just as he was pulling on to Finch Drive, according to police.
Squamish Fire attended and put the blaze out and BC Ambulance attended to assess the occupants.
