The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) this week named Lynda Flynn as the government body's new chief administrative officer.
Flynn, who assumed her position on Wednesday (Oct. 26), replaces Paul Edgington, who resigned from the post in August after nine years on the job.
Flynn, who will report to the SLRD board of directors, is a Chartered Accountant who was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer of Whistler-based Blackcomb Aviation. Before that she was president of Alpine Helicopters and its subsidiary, Alpine Aerotech, leading a team of 250 staff spread throughout B.C. and Alberta. She is also a former partner at KPMG, a global network of firms specializing in tax, audit and advisory services. Flynn lives in Pemberton.
"We are very delighted to have Lynda join the team at the SLRD," Susie Gimse, SLRD board chair, said in a statement. "With Lynda's proven leadership skills, as well as her financial and operational strengths, we are certain that she will be a great asset to our organization and region."
