The District of Squamish has named a former Vancouver Coastal Health official as its senior director for community services.
Natasha Golbeck’s portfolio includes recreation, arts and culture, Squamish Fire Rescue, bylaw and animal control, and is the senior liaison with the RCMP management team.
“We are very pleased to have Natasha’s experience at the District’s senior leadership table,” said Mayor Patricia Heintzman, in an announcement posted to the District website.
“Natasha brings broad expertise from a business and finance perspective, as well as stakeholder communications in environments with competing perspectives, and a policy lens on the work between government and non-governmental sectors. She is already proving to be a valuable member of our team.”
Golbeck arrived in May after the retirement of Jeff Sim, who was the District’s senior director of human resources and public safety.
Prior to taking her position here in town, she was at Vancouver Coastal Health as the director of strategy deployment for Vancouver community services.
A highlight of Golbeck’s time there, was her leadership role in the Downtown Eastside Second Generation Health Strategy.
The $59 million project redesigned 68 services in a region with a lot of complex health needs, according to the District’s announcement.
