The big time hits Squamish (Nov. 20) as the Squamish Off Road Cycling Association (SORCA) presents Casino Night at the Howe Sound Inn and Brewing Company.

"We just wanted a fun event to wrap up our mountain bike season," said Cliff Miller, the Sorca president.

"It will be the social event of the year."

For those willing to try their luck, there'll be a craps table, a roulette wheel, four blackjack tables, wheel of fortune, and slot machines as well.

The money raised at the event will be split between SORCA and the Squamish Community Foundation (see story this page).

Bluesberry Jam, a local band, will be performing during the evening as well.

"They're a really, really good blues band," Miller said.

There will be a silent auction, and a live auction conducted by Denise Imbeau. And the dress code is tough.

"It's dress to impress," Miller said.

The doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Tantalus Bikes Shop, Corsa Cycles, Black Tusk Realty, Re/Max Sea to Sky Real Estate and Style Zone or at the Howe Sound Inn front desk. Tickets are $30 per person, or $50 per couple.
