On May 1 at 10:20 p.m., members attended to a residence on Mcnamee Place in regards to a municipal by-law offence, an investigation resulted the members obtaining a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). Several large mature marijuana plants were seized along with drug paraphernalia.

Four adults were arrested and charged with production of a controlled substance and were released on promise to appear for court on June 17.

Numerous drunk drivers nabbed

On May 4 at 7:30 a.m., a member at a drive through restaurant noticed that the driver of a red Chevrolet Cavalier in the line ahead of him got out of his vehicle to pay for his order, stumbled and then used the window ledge for support. The driver then got into his vehicle and proceeded, the member abandoned his morning coffee and followed the suspected impaired driver. The driver was stopped on Highway 99 and failed a roadside screening device. The 52-year-old male driver read over three times the legal limit. The male was later released on a promise to appear for court on June 24.

On April 30 at 9 p.m., an off duty member observed a 2003 Hyundai driving erratically, tailgating and then crossing over the center line and clipping mirrors with another vehicle.

While reporting the incident by phone the vehicle then did an illegal U-turn and travelled in the oncoming lane of traffic.

The 32-year-old female driver was stopped and returned to the detachment and provided two readings twice the legal limit. The female was released on a Promise to Appear in court on June 3 to face charges of impaired driving. -

On May 2 at 1:53 a.m., member on patrol observed a 2004 GMC Sierra pick up truck travelling on the shoulder of Diamond Head Road. The vehicle was stopped and the 25-year-old male was returned to the detachment and two breathalyzer readings showed twice the legal limit. The driver was released on a promise to appear to face impaired driving charges in court on June 24.

On May 2 at 2:13 a.m., a member conducting road check at Diamond Road intercepted a 44-year-old female driver who failed roadside screening. Breath testing registered over the legal limit. The driver was released on a promise to appear for court on June 17 to face impaired driving charges.
