Rescuers and police continue to ask for the public's help finding a missing hiker.

On Friday, Squamish RCMP received a report of an overdue hiker who had been dropped off at the Elfin Lakes trailhead in Garibaldi Provincial Park a few days prior, according to an RCMP news release.

Daniel Ring, left on July 7, Mounties say, with a plan to camp at Rampart Ponds Campground for a few days, but failed to return to his pick-up site two days later.

Squamish Search and Rescue volunteers have been searching since and RCMP Air Services is heading into the location.

Those in Garibaldi Provincial Park or heading to that area are asked to keep a watch for 33-year-old Ring.

He is described as a white male, five-feet 11-inches tall, 165 lbs with a  medium build. He has short grey hair and was thought to be wearing a grey t-shirt, black shorts, and a camouflage vest. He was carrying a camouflage-coloured backpack.

He had enough supplies for a few days but nothing beyond that, police say.

"The Rampart Pond area has been searched extensively by Squamish SAR with no sign of Daniel," said Sgt. Sascha Banks in the release. "This is a highly travelled area during this time of year and we are asking anyone who has seen Daniel or any of his effects to contact Police so we can ensure his wellbeing."

If you have any information,  contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100.

**Please note, on the morning of July 12, RCMP sent out a release stating an unnamed missing person had been located. This story temporarily was updated to say Daniel had been located, but RCMP have confirmed that it was another hiker who was located and Ring is still being searched for.
