The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is alerting the public to a series of lane closures coming to Lions Gate Bridge.
Crews will reduce the bridge to single-lane-alternating traffic between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23.
At least one sidewalk will remain open at all times during construction to provide a crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.
The work will be weather dependent and the ministry suggests using the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing as an alternative.
“This scheduled paving of the north approach viaduct is part of regular road maintenance to keep the bridge safe and in good working order. Work has been scheduled during nighttime hours to minimize traffic disruptions,” the notice from the ministry states.
