With a snowfall warning in effect for the region, a travel advisory is in effect for Highway 99 this morning.

Heads up if you're planning on travelling this weekend.

DriveBC has issued a travel advisory for Highway 99 from West Vancouver to north of Pemberton due to incoming bad weather.

"Heavy snow forecasted beginning Sat into Sun," it reads. "Travellers should expect rapidly deteriorating conditions, consider changing travel plans, be prepared for closures on short notice. Travel not recommended unless absolutely necessary."

A snowfall warning also remains in effect for the region, with up to 35 centimetres possible by Sunday.

"A significant weather system will push across the South Coast this weekend bringing widespread snow to the region. Periods of light snow will start this afternoon and intensify to heavy snow this evening. Heavy snow is expected to ease early Sunday morning for most regions," it reads.

"Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow."
