It is crazy hot, at least for our area. A heat warning is in effect for Howe Sound from Environment Canada.
We will see temperatures in the low thirties today and Tuesday.
Overnight lows in the high teens will mean sweaty nights for a few more sleeps.
While some areas in the Sea-to-Sky corridor including Whistler and Pemberton will experience maximum temperatures in the mid to high thirties, overnight minimum temperatures in the low teens will provide some relief from the heat in those communities.
Slightly cooler weather is in store beginning mid-week as an onshore flow develops, according to Environment Canada.
Heat impacts everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.
Check on older family, friends and neighbours.
Make sure they are cool and drinking water
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
